2002 Results
- 96 SRS rams - av.FD=18.47; SD = 2.87; CF%=99.8
- 30 Meat Merinos - av.FD=19.6; SD=3.05; CF%=99.6
- 93 SRS rams averaged $2185
- 30 Meat Merinos averaged $1640
- Total average 123 rams = $2052 (top price $5500)
- Severn Park again topped the Monaro averages.
2003 Results
- 113 SRS rams - av.FD=19.7; SD = 3.06; CF%=99.7
- 38 Meat Merinos - av.FD=20.5; SD=3.2; CF%=99.4
- 113 SRS rams averaged $1948
- 38 Meat Merinos rams averaged $1858
- Total average 151 rams = $1926 (top price $7800)
- Severn Park topped the Monaro week sale averages for the 7th year in a row.
2004 Results
- 118 SRS Horn & Poll Rams - av.FD=19.9; CV%=17.7 CF%=99.9
- 36 Meat Merino Rams av.FD= 19.7; CV%= 17.9; CF%= 99.6 av.EBV,YWY= +6kg.
- Total of 154 & Meat Merino SRS rams averaged $1,555.
- Again this was top average for volume Monaro Ram sellers.

Grade Rams
As in previous years, these will be available for sale commencing the day after auction. Year 2005 grades will be:
- Selecteds - $800 and $1000.
- Flock - $600 and $500.
Inspection of grade rams by private appointment.
Information on Sale Rams
- Pedigree details and lambing status (single, multiple).
- GFW%- based on June shearing @ 10 months, with 6 months wool.
- Up to date comprehensive fibre tests - samples taken one month prior to sale. Includes:
- Fibre diameter (FD) and fibre diameter deviation to average of drop.
- FD distribution - in form of SD (standard deviation) and CV%.
- Comfort Factor (CF%) - a measure of coarse edge.
- SFD - spinning fineness diameter (a measure of processing performance).
- Curve and SDCurve - measures of wool crimp and style - important processing information.
- For meat-oriented genetics: body weight, eye muscle depth (EMD) & fat depth.
Health Check of Sale Rams
All auction sale rams are examined 10 days prior to sale, by a qualified veterinarian and passed free from faults likely to interfere with their ability to live a normal and productive life - including inspection of feet, testicles and for external parasites.
Testing House
Severn Park uses the OFDA wool measurement system, care of Micron Man, Fremantle WA. OFDA is a system we consider superior in measuring fibre parameters.
Cervical AI (CAI) & Yard Matings
More powerful SRS® genetics from Severn Park open the way for the advent of more rapid genetic improvement (eg reducing micron by up to 1 in 5 years; increasing fleece weight by up to 0.8 to 1 kg in 6 years).
Refined techniques in CAI & in yard mating allow rams with advanced SRS® traits to be rapidly spread over 400 to 800 ewes at a mating. Increasing numbers of Severn Park clients are moving this way. To assist these clients Severn Park offers a package of assistance:
- Identification of suitable rams for CAI or yard mating.
- Back-up support with rams/semen and advice.
- Client support and feedback meetings.
- CAI training at workshops and training days through Kyabra Artificial Breeders (Lytton-Hitchins family).
- Recommended CAI contract service.
